Google Cracks Down on PPC Advertising. What does this mean for PPC Domination Course Takers?
A few days ago Google added some new restrictions and started stridently enforcing existing restrictions on what kind of PPC advertising they will be promoting.
This came as a shock to many of Mike Dillard and Jim Yaghi’s PPC Domination class takers. One Student, Scott Phares, had this to say:
“Hi Jim – Google changed the rules yesterday. All my ads were disapproved or their Quality Score went so low they won’t ever display. I called an 800 number I have for Google and spoke with one of their adwords reps. Google no longer considers network marketing, affiliate marketing and MLM businesses as “valid” businesses. As a result, they have disallowed all ads forwarding to affiliate links/sites, bridge pages that then forward to an affiliate site, and any site that contains or mirrors all or portions of a parent company site. Even my ads for my own personal site landing page and home business web sites went down. They did not disapprove them, but they lowered my Quality Score so low that the ads never display. So be prepared, you may not see this happen until you edit or create a new ad, then Goggle will review all your campaigns, that’s when all your MLM, home business and affiliate ads will drop… This is going to shut down every ad anyone has running on Google as an affiliate for the Magnetic Sponsoring products.”
Of course Jim Yaghi (creator of PPC Domination) checked into this right away. After calling Google he says not to panic. Google has nothing against affiliate marketers or network marketers. They just are tightening their quality standards. Those who had their adds shut down were using domain masking or forwarding and this has been against Googles Affiliate Policy for a long time.
Basically what’s happening here is Google is fighting back against marketing spam. Yes, The Good God Google knows quality when it sees it… or at least it’s getting better and better at figuring it out as time goes on. This is great news for those of us producing quality content and providing real value to our customers.
What does this mean for you? The bottom line is, “Keep it Real”. Learn how to create your lead capture pages of your own, give value to your visitor and you’ve got PPC Domination in the bag. And because the ranks of advertisers have been thinned, if you are following Google’s Adwords Affiliate Policy to a “T” in your PPC advertising you’ll see much better results for far less cost.
